Prunus incisa kojou-no-mai, is a medium sized slow growing shrub that was originally found on the volcanic slips of Mt. Fuji. The branches of the Prunus incisa kojou-no-maare dark and wiry, kind of twisted. Before the leaves appear, masses of red buds open to flowers that are a pale pink which develop more deeply pink.
Prunus incisa kojou-no-ma is very reliable tand easy to grow. It can be pruned once it's finished flowering, so it will suit most gardens, including those with small gardens.
