Located in a beautiful 18th-century courtyard in Holycross, Bruff, Co. Limerick, Rockbarton is a booked garden destination designed for learning, creativity, and connection with nature.

All visits to Rockbarton are by pre-booked experience — including workshops, guided garden tours, school visits, group bookings, and consultations. This allows us to offer a more personal, relaxed, and meaningful experience for every group.

Whether you’re joining us for a hands-on workshop, an educational tour, or a seasonal event, you’ll find a calm, inspiring setting where you can slow down, learn something new, and enjoy the garden at its best.

The nearest bus stop is in Bruff town centre (2km away). Bus Éireann route 337 connects Bruff with Limerick City. Taxis are available from Bruff town.

When you arrive at Rockbarton, you’ll enter the historic courtyard of the former Rockbarton Estate — a calm and character-filled setting designed for guided garden experiences, workshops, and learning.

Visits take place as part of pre-booked tours, workshops, school visits, and group experiences. Each experience is hosted and guided, allowing you to explore the gardens, learn at a relaxed pace, and fully enjoy the setting.

Free Car Parking
Ample free parking is available on-site. Designated spaces close to the courtyard are available for visitors with mobility needs.

Refreshments for Booked Groups
Light refreshments are available for pre-booked groups and workshops only. Depending on your booking, this may include tea, coffee, and light lunch options.

Wheelchair & Buggy Friendly Our garden centre has level access throughout most areas with wide pathways suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Some historic cobbled areas may be uneven.

I attended a Rose Growing Workshop in Rockbarton Garden Centre on Saturday 21st February. It was very informal and friendly and there was a nice welcoming atmosphere. I learned a lot, particularly about where to place roses, which I hadn't thought about much before then. The pruning process was explained very clearly and I feel much more confident about that now. The weather was bad so the tea and scones were very welcome! Lynda has great expertise and what was great was that anything that came up was discussed - we got good advice on hydrangeas as well, for instance. I would definitely go to another workshop like this and I would recommend it to others. A lovely way to spend a wet Saturday in February!

Enjoyed a fabulous Autumn Colour class at Rockbarton Garden Centre, it was a very informative & interesting morning. Lynda has great knowledge & showed us a wonderful array of shrubs & perennials to bring colour & interest to our gardens for the Autumn/Winter season, all this information was put together in a booklet to bring home so we would have the information for future reference. We then made fab colourful autumn containers to take home & finished with tea & scones (with cream & jam yum). 10/10 really enjoyed my morning & now have lots of inspiration. Looking forward to next class.

Cashel Flower and Garden Club visited Rockbarton Garden Centre on Thursday June 19th. Lynda is a wonderful host and our group had a lovely lunch..Beautiful fresh sandwiches and home baking with copious amounts of tea and coffee.Lynda took us on a tour of her garden and her array of planting is colourful. She answered all queries and shared her knowledge .A most enjoyable visit and our ladies were extremely happy.

Lynda is always so helpful. I recently did a Rose course in Rockbarton. It was such an enjoyable morning with yummy scones, coffee and chats and of course loads of tips, tricks and learning all about roses. I would highly recommend Rockbarton Gardens
