The Prunus Nigra, Plum Cherry Blossom Tree has small delicate pink blossoms from as early as February. The flowers come first to the plum cherry and this is followed by the copper foliage.
The foliage of the plum cherry is a great contrast to the greens which can dominate a garden during the summer months. It is great to give early flowers when the garden can look dull during early Spring.
Prunus Nigra likes to be planted in full sun, with moist but well drained soil.
