Portuguese laurel looks very different to the cherry laurel that is more common. The Portuguese laurel has smaller leaves on red stems. It is slower growing and it is well suited to growing in full sun and or partial shade. It doesn’t like to be planted where it is quite windy and exposed preferring a more sheltered site.
It is a very hardy hedge providing colour all year round.
Planting Portuguese laurel from potted plants can be planted at any time of year.
