The Fatsia japonica, is also known as the Caster Oil Plant and it’s hard to miss it with it’s large glossy green leaves. If this is planted against a wall it can grow really tall. The flowers are silvery/green when it’s budding but when they open they are creamy white. The flowers can be followed by black berries. It really loves being in a shady garden and where it’s in a sheltered spot. For this reason it does well in north facing gardens, or enclosed town/city gardens.
