Fagus sylvatica Purple Fountain is a weeping form of copper beech.  It is a slow growing tree with a slender upright form, with branches that drop from the central leader stem.  Some of the branches can reach the ground.  The leaves from Fagus sylvatica Purple Fountain are red/purple.  It is a very unusual tree to see in a garden, with it's weeping form. Fagus sylvatica Purple Fountain  holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit
