Carpinus Betula Fastigata (Hornbeam)
Hornbeam trees are extremely hardy and will tolerate shade and damp soil to grow in most gardens. The Hornbeam tree is deciduous, it will loose it’s leaf during the winter months, however before it does loose it’s green leaf, it will turn yellow during the Autumn and then it will turn brown, clinging onto the tree much like a beech tree will.
Carpinus Betula trees can grow up to 20 metres, 60 feet if left without any pruning, but can easily be kept in check if pruned
