Allium Purple Sensation grows from a bulb which is planted during the Autumn months. Allium Purple Sensation will flower from May. The flowers suit the flower bed and or border and are really striking. You could always dry the flowers afterwards and use them in a dried flower arrangement. The flowers will come back every year.
Don't worry if you see the leaves start to look ugly, or yellow in colour. This is the bulb putting all it's energy into producing the massive flowers. I underplant the Alliums with other shrubs/flowers that will hide the foliage from sight.
