Autumn Delights in the Garden
During October we reminisce about brighter warmer days (ok, I was here in Ireland this summer and yes it was a lot of rain!) However, with the arrival of October, it brings a new opportunity to nurture our gardens and outdoor spaces and get them ready for the colder months ahead. I’m hopeful that these Indian Summer temperatures that they are talking about will come to fruition and I’ll be outside for the next 2 weeks!
Planting Dazzling Daffodils
I absolutely love the Spring flowers and idea of the new beginnings that they promise. I have a wide variety of Spring Flowering Bulbs in stock that you can plant now during October/November that will bring you those beautiful blooms starting in January.
- Snowdrops, are well known for being one of the first blooms in January, with their nodding white delicate flower heads. They are the plant of the New Year, New Seasons being on the way.
- Charming Crocuses, these normally flower just after the Snowdrops, and with them the promise that Spring is on its way.
- Daffodils are always one that can surprise us when they arrive and would brighten up any garden
- symbol of hope and new beginnings, daffodils come in various hues and shapes, brightening up any garden.
- Tulips with their cup shaped flowers, which come in a variety of colours, can add a touch of elegance to your pots and gardens
- Alliums, are one of the most magestic tall purple headed flowers that bring a touch of amazement to the flower bed each year, in my own humble opinion.
Planting Bulbs
Grab your trowel, or bulb planter if you have one, gloves ( I love to wear gloves when gardening) and your Spring flowering bulbs and make your garden come alive with colour and the promise of a beautiful spring.
